About the Jacksons

Kari Jackson slipped and fell Thursday night, March 24th at home (Los Angeles). Afterwards she rushed to the hospital, being 8.5 months pregnant, and had an emergency c-section. The baby, a girl they named Margot June, was stillborn. Kari was in ICU in critical condition as her blood was not clotting and she continued to bleed. After hours and hours of the doctors working on her, Kari's blood began to clot.
Since then, Kari's kidneys have stopped functioning and seem to not be improving with dialysis. The Doctors remain optimistic that with Kari's health and youth she can make a full recovery.

Kari is the mother of 2 year old Stella, and is married to Josh.  Kari grew up in Moline, IL and Josh grew up in Michigan. Kari and Josh both attended Indiana Wesleyan University which is where they met. They were married in April of 2001. After college they moved to Sydney, Australia where Josh worked in the non-profit world for a year or so. They then moved back to the states and decided to head out to California. They both love to travel and in 2006-2007 took off for an around the world trip for around 8 months. Josh owns his own business selling Mac computers, builds reclaimed wood furniture (www.arborla.com) and Kari stays at home taking care of little Stella. They love life, traveling & being with friends. Josh enjoys writing and they are both avid readers.

The Jacksons are supported by their parents and an incredible network of friends nearby and around the world. Visit the "Ways to Give" page for ideas on how you can support the Jackson family through this difficult time.
